Folderico is a very easy solution to quickly give color to your folders to help you organize your data and quickly be able to find the folder you are looking for in a glance.
I use it at my work to quickly find the proper folder I need to be in. For example, I made the folder with websites green (Adobe Dreamweaver green), and other folders that are not projects relevant gray.
The only downside with using custom folder icons is that the folders have to be “system” folders in order to pull off this trick. Windows automatically makes these folders “system” folders if you use a custom icon. This is no problem if you use Windows Explorer. But if you use Total Commander, then these folders become invisible bacause by default Total Commander hides all hidden and system folders, so you have to enable “show hidden and system folders” in Total Commander.
